பிடிவாதம் எதிர்வாதம் தேவையா என்றால்
சிலவேளை பொருந்தும் சிலவேளை பொருந்தா
எதற்காக என்று எண்ணியே பார்த்தால்
பொருந்துமா பொருந்தாதா என்பது தெளியும்

புத்தரின் பிடிவாதம் புதுப்பாதை ஆனது
காந்தியின் பிடிவாதம் சத்தியமாய் எழுந்தது
ஒளைவையின் பிடிவாதம் அறிவுரையாய் அமைந்தது
ஆன்றோர்கள் பிடிவாதம் வழிகாட்டல் ஆனது

நக்கீரர் எதிர்வாதம் நல்லதமிழ் ஆனது
நெற்றிக் கண்ணிறைவனைச் சபையேற வைத்தது
கண்ணகியின் எதிர்வாதம் விழிப்படையச் செய்தது
காண்டீபன் எதிர்வாதம் கீதைவர வைத்தது

சகுனியின் பிடிவாதம் நூற்றவரைக் கொன்றது
பாண்டவரின் பிடிவாதம் பகைமையைத் தகர்த்தது
பாஞ்சாலி பிடிவாதம் பாரதப்போர் ஆகியது
பரந்தாமன் பிடிவாதம் பக்குவத்தைக் கொடுத்தது

அடியார்கள் பிடிவாதம் ஆண்டவனைக் காட்டியது
அவர்கொண்ட எதிர்வாதம் அனைத்தும் பொடியாகியது
நல்ல பிடிவாதம் நல்ல எதிர்வாதம்
நல்லதையே நல்கும் நல்லதையே காட்டும் !

The resolve of great souls became guidance for the world.

Nakkirar’s counter-argument enriched classical Tamil,
Even making the Lord with the third eye stand before the assembly.
Kannagi’s protest awakened justice.
Arjuna’s questioning brought forth the Bhagavad Gita.

Shakuni’s stubbornness destroyed a hundred lives.
The Pandavas’ firmness shattered hostility.
Draupadi’s vow led to the Mahabharata war.
Krishna’s resolve bestowed wisdom and maturity.

The devotion of saints revealed the Divine.
Their opposing arguments turned everything false to dust.
Good determination and righteous debate
Will always give good and show the good.
